People

People are the core of our university: students, faculty and staff, as well as our engaged alumni. A key priority of the campaign is to strengthen this most valuable asset. Our goals are to increase dramatically the number of scholarships, paid internships and real-world opportunities available to help develop more deserving students into community leaders. We are equally intent on attracting, retaining and developing first-rate educators and forward-thinking administrators, and providing them with the resources necessary to be successful.

Place

Cal State East Bay is a tale of two places. There's the actual place, so dear to the hearts and resonant in the memories of so many alumni. And there's the imagined place, the possibility of what our campuses could be. The campaign will focus on making the latter a reality — developing 21st century, technology-powered facilities in which succeeding generations of students will create their own memorable experiences.

Purpose

Our purpose as a university extends far beyond our classrooms and campuses, into the communities from which our students come and to which they return as leaders and role models. Our purpose is quite simply to serve the greater good through education. The more we can help students of modest means achieve lives of greater means, the better our economy and the stronger our communities will be. This campaign will provide students with opportunities and resources that motivate them to solve real-world problems, champion social justice and build community.
