鈥楥onnotations鈥� Brings Individual Student Performances to Life

Love, loss, freedom, acceptance, language, spirit and more are all about to come to life on stage at Cal State East Bay. “Connotations,” a new work from the Department of Theatre and Dance, is a compilation of original student performances premiering this weekend at the University Theatre on the Hayward campus.
“Connotations” is the sixth and final show of the 2016-17 season and will touch on a variety of topics and performance styles, ranging from racial oppression to finding love, to dealing with the complexities of mental health, to coping with anxiety and depression. The students will explore these issues through mediums such as American Sign Language, song and lip-syncing, all in an effort to show audiences how connotations and meanings “shift with your point of views.”
Performance dates are June 2-3 at 7:30 p.m. and June 4 at 2 p.m. Tickets are currently available at the Pioneer Bookstore and . Tickets will also be on sale at the box office one hour before showtime. Group rates and discounts are available. The box office accepts cash, Visa and MasterCard, credit/debit cards and personal checks made out to Cal State East Bay.
