Miramontes to address honors convocation May 16

Louis P. Miramontes, Cal State East Bay’s “Alumnus of the Year” for 2005 and a partner in the San Francisco office of KPMG, will address the university’s honors students and their families at CSUEB’s 2009 Honors Convocation ceremony on Saturday, May 16.

The ceremony, which recognizes the scholastic achievements of graduating students and the university's honors program graduates, will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. in the University Amphitheatre on the Hayward campus of Cal State East Bay, 25800 Carlos Bee Blvd.

Miramontes is the Western Area Leader for the building, real estate, and construction practices of KPMG, an international network of member firms offering audit and advisory services. He has 32 years of experience with the firm, including 22 as a partner.

Previously he was managing partner of KPMG’s San Francisco office, regional executive partner for Latin America, a member of KPMG’s global executive team, leader for its Northern California Real Estate practice, and lead audit partner on several public and private companies. He is a member of the corporate board of directors for Boy Scouts of America, the National Association of Corporate Directors and the San Francisco Planning & Urban Association.

Miramontes earned a BS degree in business administration from Cal State East Bay in 1976.
