The wide range of educational offerings and professional trainings available to the public through Cal State East Bay’s Division of Continuing and International Education in 2009-2010 will be showcased at an open house between 3:30 and 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, at the university’s Oakland Center, 1000 Broadway, Suite109, in downtown Oakland.

Open house attendees can explore the more than 60 certificate and degree programs offered in a variety of industries and fields.  Training is available at all levels in many specialized areas.

Continuing education faculty will be present along with staff to answer questions and discuss academic, professional and lifelong learning opportunities.  Veteran’s affairs and career counseling representatives will be on hand to consult on the resources and steps needed to pursue any of the professional and academic opportunities.

“Our annual open house maintains Cal State East Bay’s long-standing commitment to providing training and tools for those seeking personal enrichment and career advancement,” said Brian Cook, executive director of Continuing and International Education.   “As the region’s educational resource, we invite everyone to meet our continuing education representatives and learn about our upcoming programs.”

Special presentation sessions will focus on Cal State East Bay’s ABA-approved paralegal studies, clinical research training, nonprofit management, human resource management, supply management, and construction management programs, as well as the online teaching and learning degree program.  Additional information will be available on the many other traditional classroom, online, and hybrid offerings.
