Pioneers To Conclude Season at Home

HAYWARD, Calif. - Cal State East Bay women's volleyball team will conclude the 2009 season with a pair of CCAA home matches against Humboldt State (3-17 CCAA, 7-21) on November 13 and Sonoma State (14-6, 4th CCAA, 22-6) on November 14.
Prior to the Sonoma State match, the Pioneers will honor assistant coach and two-year player CASSIE BAXTER for her outstanding contributions to the volleyball program. Both matches will begin at 7:00 p.m.
The Pioneer women's volleyball team is 7-13 in CCAA play and 9-20 overall. Cal State East Bay is 5-4 in home matches. The Pioneers are averaging 11.50 kills, 15.20 digs, and 1.86 blocks a set.
SUKHJIT ATHWAL is the team leader in kills (254) and kills per set (2.49). BRIANNA BRYANT is averaging 1.95 kills per set and tops the Pioneers with 91 blocks including 17 solo. ROXANNE NEELY has 1.73 kills, 5.65 sets, and 2.65 digs a set.
Libero LAUREN MASSA has 482 digs, an average of 4.42 a set. The Pioneer have received good production from defensive specialist Katie Glomb with 13 service aces and 103 digs.
