Faculty, staff show art in annual exhibition

Faculty and staff from Cal State East Bay's art deparment will show their current work in an annual exhibition opening Tuesday, Jan. 26, from 5 to 7 p.m., in the University Art Gallery on the west side of the Art and Education Building on the Hayward campus.
The exhibiton will continue from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays until Feb. 25. Admission is free.
Participants will include Kristin Becker, Jennifer Brazelton, Lanier Graham, Malka Helfman, Michael Henninger, Bryan Higgins, Phillip Hofstetter, Scott Hopkins, Polly Kavanaugh, Kirk LeClaire, Lisa Levine, Mark Levy, Grace Munakata, Paula Pereira, James Saxon, Dickson Schneider, Lisa Solomon, Hal Standley, Suzy Wear and Sharon Wickham.
“This is an opportunity for art students to see what their teachers are doing as artists, and to talk with them about art in a casual manner in an environment quite different from the classroom. It also is a chance for the university and the wider community to experience what is being created here at East Bay,” said Lanier Graham, lecturer and gallery director.
Concurrently, 20th Century German Expressionist Prints will be shown in the satellite gallery at the back of the main gallery. The selection comes from recent acquisitions by Roy Kahn and has been arranged by Rachel Bush, a museum studies intern.
