Cal State East Bay Set to Take on Cross-Bay Rival San Francisco State

HAYWARD, Calif. - Cal State East Bay and San Francisco State will play a four-game home-and-home series this weekend. The series will begin on Friday with a single game at San Francisco State at 3 p.m. The two teams resume the series with a Saturday doubleheader at Cal State East Bay beginning at 11 a.m. The series will conclude on Sunday with a single game at San Francisco State starting at noon.

The Pioneers, with a CCAA record of 3-13 and 6-16-1 overall, are hitting .282 as a team. Nick McManus is the Pioneers top hitter with a .384 batting average. McManus has three home runs and 19 RBIs. Stephen Gatehouse is batting .379 for the season with a team-best six stolen bases. Levi Josewski, hitting .301 overall, tops the Pioneers with nine doubles, five home runs and 25 RBIs.

Devin Grigg has made six appearances on the mound with a 1-0 record, a 1.29 earned run average, and three saves. Paul Jinkens is 1-1 with a 2.70 era in 30 innings of work. Victor Guerrero leads the staff with 24 strikeouts while senior Aaron Hannigan is 2-1 for the season.

San Francisco State enters the four-game series with a 9-14 overall record. The Gators are 3-9 in CCAA play. Ryan Williams, hitting .410 for the season, is the Gators top hitter. Pitcher Patrick Haugen is 3-1 with a 2.63 era and a staff-high 50 strikeouts for the Gators.
