UC San Diego Completes Four-Game Sweep over CSUEB

HAYWARD, Calif. - UC San Diego completed a four-game sweep over Cal State East Bay by pounding the Pioneers 18-5 on March 7.

The Tritons, 19-3 for the season and 10-2 in the CCAA, scored three runs in the fifth, four in the sixth and seven in the seventh inning en route to the victory.

Robert Sedin drove in five runs and hit a three-run home run while Aaron Bauman was 3-for-4 at the plate with three RBI and a two-run homer for the Tritons.

UC San Diego hurler Kirby St. John improved to 4-1 as he limited the Pioneers to two runs on four hits with four strikeouts in six innings.

The Pioneers scored single runs in the second and fifth innings on a pair of solo home runs by Levi Josewski and Jake Walters. Josewski had two hits and scored twice. Cal State East Bay added three runs in the seventh highlighted by a two-run single off the bat of Stephen Gatehouse.

Cal State East Bay stands at 5-13-1 overall and 2-10 in CCAA play.
