Cal State East Bay Men's Soccer To Host Spring Camps
- March 2, 2010
HAYWARD, Calif. - The Cal State East Bay men's soccer coaching staff will hold three camp sessions this spring on the Cal State East Bay campus. Two camp sessions will be college identification camps for boys, while the third will be a co-ed goalkeeping clinic.
The first college ID camp will be held on Sunday, March 28 from 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., while the second session is set for Saturday, May 22 from 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., both on the Hayward campus. The camps will feature technical training, a campus tour, information on contacting college coaches and scrimmages over the course of the day.
The college ID camps are open to boys, ages 14-20, and provide two pricing options. For $75, participants will spend the entire day at the camp and receive a t-shirt and lunch at Cal State East Bay's Dining Commons. Camp participants can also choose to only participate in small-sided scrimmages from 3 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. for the cost of $30.
A third camp for goalkeepers will be held Sunday, April 25 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. The camp will be open to both boys and girls, ages 11 and up and will feature goalkeeper instruction and training.
All three camps will be staffed by Cal State East Bay Head Coach Andy Cumbo, Assistant Coach Keith Lambert and Pioneer student-athletes. Cumbo has nine seasons of collegiate head coaching experience and holds a United States Soccer Federation National "A" Coaching Diploma and National Soccer Coaches Association of America Advanced National Coaching Diploma.
The camps will also serve as a preview of the Pioneers' three-night residential camps to be held on campus this summer. More information on those camps will be available at a later date.
