'Day of Teacher' for those who want to teach April 24 at Concord campus

Anyone interested in exploring teaching as a career will want to attend “Day of the Teacher : Pursuing New Frontiers, April 24, on the Concord Campus of California State University, East Bay, 4700 Ygnacio Valley Road. The event starts at 9 a.m. and continues through 2:30 p.m.
Admission is $15, which includes lunch, all workshop materials, mock interviews, and networking opportunities.
“Day of the Teacher” will provide a series of workshops exploring teaching opportunities and a wide variety of topics. Workshop sessions include “Technology in the Classroom,” “Effective Classroom Management Techniques” and “Teaching in a Multicultural Classroom. Additional workshops will explore CBEST/CSET test taking strategies and “Marketing your Teaching Career.”
Presenters and session leaders include Cal State East Bay staff and faculty members and other experienced teaching professionals. The keynote address will be presented by Joell Marchese, Contra Costa County “Teacher of The Year” for 2010.
The event is open to anyone considering teaching as a career, as well as new and seasoned K-12 education professionals. Space is limited. Registration and additional information are available online at .
