AMF Media Group, a fast-growing public relations and communications firm, continues to grow with the addition of former Macy’s West Vice President LaTonya S. Lawson as AMF’s new Director of Client Services. Lawson, an award-winning marketing executive, manages creative direction and strategic development at AMF.
“LaTonya is a pivotal addition to our growing staff,” said Vintage Foster, president of AMF Media Group. “She has the unique ability to both develop strategy and see it through to creative execution. Not many people can do both. We’re honored to have her leadership.”
AMF Media Group is a full-service marketing and communications firm staffed with writers, graphic artists, public relations professionals, and web development and event management personnel. Founded in 2007, AMF Media Group is experiencing 120 percent year-over-year growth after an outstanding second year in business. The firm is based in Northern California and has expanded its client base to Southern California with Los Angeles Southwest College. A partial list of AMF Media Group’s additional clients includes Hewlett-Packard, Jamba Juice, Kaiser Permanente, BCCI Construction, and YMCA of the East Bay.
“Joining AMF Media Group gives me the opportunity to bring the expertise I’ve developed over the years with one of the nation’s best retailers to a broader clientele,” says Lawson. “My passion is for developing marketing strategies that increase brand awareness and drive revenue growth.”
Prior to joining AMF Media Group, Lawson was Vice President of Campaign Development, New Media and Broadcast for Macy’s Inc., West Division in San Francisco. She started her 23-year career at Macy’s as a copywriter and moved up the department store’s ranks by developing award-winning promotions. Lawson won the Retail Advertising Conference awards for Creativity and Innovation in 1999 and 2006 for her multimedia campaigns to promote Macy’s Passport HIV/AIDS Awareness Fashion Show Fundraiser. Additionally, her customer loyalty campaign delivered such consistent double-digit customer response rates that it was expanded from the West Division to all of Macy’s divisions.
Lawson is a board member of the East Bay Agency for Children and a member of the California Diversity Council and the Retail Advertising and Marketing Association. She earned her B.A. in Mass Communications from California State University, Hayward in 1981.
