Cal State East Bay takes third at CCAA Preview Meet

WHITTIER, Calif. - The Pioneer men’s cross country team traveled to Whittier to compete at the CCAA Preview Meet hosted by Cal Poly Pomona on Oct. 23, finishing third. UC San Diego captured the team title with seven of the top 10 finishers while Cal State Stanislaus finished in second place.
Erik Rodriguez and Francisco Pulido finished 23rd and 24th, respectively, to lead the Pioneers. Rodriguez covered the 8k course in 27:54.3, while Pulido finished in 28:06.9.
Scott Pallesen was clocked a time 29:25.0 to place 27th, while John Erlandson (29:57.7) finished close behind 28th. Antonio Arredondo (31:08.6) and John Vergara (32:27.9) rounded out the Pioneer field in 30th and 31st, respectively.
Cal State East Bay returns to the trails on Nov. 6 for the 2010 CCAA Championships back at Whittier Narrows Regional Park.
