Karole and Peter Lewis sing from La Traviata with Baroque Orchestra at the College of Saint Elizabeth
- November 25, 2010
Thanksgiving doesn’t have much of a musical catalog. After Over the River and Through the Woods, it’s time for Christmas carols.
So we thought we would bridge the gap with some lovely music courtesy of Maestro Robert Butts and the Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey.
This clip features the husband and wife team of tenor Peter Lewis and soprano Karole Lewis singing a beloved selction from Verdi’s La Traviata. They performed at the College of Saint Elizabeth in Madison on Nov. 14, 2010.
From the program notes:
Soprano Karole Lewis received her BA from California State University, East Bay (Hayward). Karole has performed leading operatic roles with Opera San Jose, Oakland Opera, West Bay Opera, Monterey Opera, Livermore Valley Opera and Santa Cruz Bay City Opera, a company she co-founded with her husband, Peter S. Lewis. Karole was a finalist in the Metropolitan Opera’s Western Regional Finals. She was most recently heard in the role of Ottavia in Montevedi’s L’Incoronazione di Poppea at the 2010 Summer Festival of Baroque Music.
