A digest of top, need-to-know dates, deadlines and events for faculty, staff and students, "This Month at CSUEB" is a regular feature of The View e-News. Read on for updates and previews of what’s happening at Cal State East Bay in the coming month:
• The "Winter Gala," featuring the East Bay Singers, the Oratorio Society, and the Jazz Singers, plus others, performs at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 3 at All Saints Catholic Church in downtown Hayward. Free to those with a CSUEB ID.
• Bring your Pioneer pride to a pregame barbecue Dec. 3 as the men’s and women’s basketball teams prepare to take on San Francisco State in the annual Battle of the Bay. After the barbecue at Pioneer Heights, a free bus at 5 p.m. will take up to 300 fans – including students, employees and faculty members - to SFSU to cheer on the red-and-black.
• Performances of "Scroogie: A Modern Musical Carol" will be presented at 8 p.m. Dec. 10, and at 3 and 7 p.m. Dec. 11 in the University Theatre. Suitable for all ages, tickets to the show are available at the University Bookstore.
• If you have moved in the past year, submit an address update to the university by Dec. 13 to receive your W-2 wage and tax statement at your new residence. Login to using your NetID and password, then submit change of address details under the “personal information” section.
• Contributors to tax sheltered annuities, mark Dec. 6 on your calendar. That’s the deadline for making any changes to 403(b) and 457 programs for tax year 2011, if you want contribution updates reflected in your January paycheck. Review details in a PDF of a .
• Plan on attending the Staff Recognition Celebration from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Dec. 17 in the new University Union multipurpose room. The 2010 Vivian Cunniffe Award recipient will be honored. Nominees for the outstanding employee of the year are: Lisa Booker, Marcia Brown, Jennifer Cabrejas, Bill Road and Anne Wing.
• Get your flu shot from Student Health and Counseling Services; available to students, staff and faculty for $10. Call (510) 885-3735 to make an appointment at the Hayward or Concord campuses.
• Lower-division and upper-division transfer students, and graduate students, may apply for spring quarter admission until Feb. 1 for classes starting in March. online.
