A digest of top, need-to-know dates, deadlines and events for faculty, staff and students, "This Month at CSUEB" is a regular feature of The View e-News. Read on for updates and previews of what’s happening at Cal State East Bay in the coming month:

• Check out athletics mascot Pioneer Pete’s extreme makeover Jan. 15. The mascot’s new look will be revealed at the Pioneer Gym as the basketball teams host CSULA starting at 5:30 p.m.

• The annual Bachelor of Fine Art Student Exhibition is open and runs through Feb. 12 in the University Art Gallery, AE building. Hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and Saturdays; and 6 to 9 p.m. Fridays. Free admission.

• Pioneer Athletics will host the 2011 Mascot Games on Jan. 20 when the men's and women's basketball teams take on Cal Poly Pomona. The event will feature mascots from local professional teams and a matchup with the 2010 Men's Division II National Champion Broncos. Join in the fun and help pack the gym in the Race to 1k. If we reach 1,000 fans, everyone gets a coupon for free Chipotle.

• Celebrate a fun-packed roster of events for Homecoming 2011 during the week of Jan. 31. Read the .

• Lower-division and upper-division transfer students, and graduate students, may apply for spring quarter admission until Feb. 1 for classes starting in March. Submit applications online at .
