San Francisco State University executive Leroy Morishita will become interim president at Cal State East Bay in Hayward beginning in July, California State University said Monday.
Morishita has been at San Francisco State since 2002, serving as executive vice president and chief financial officer since 2009.
"I have a great appreciation for the opportunities East Bay has to offer," he said in a statement.
CSU Chancellor Charles Reed tapped Morishita to lead the Hayward campus until a permanent replacement for outgoing President Mohammad Qayoumi can be found.
Qayoumi will become president at San Jose State University in July.
