University Fall Convocation for all employees Sept. 19

The fall convocation for all employees of California State University, East Bay will be held on Monday, Sept. 19 in the University Theatre on the Hayward campus. The event will feature an address by Interim President Leroy Morishita at 9 a.m., preceded by a reception with coffee and tea beginning at 8:15 a.m. outdoors in the theatre courtyard. 

Other speakers will include James Houpis, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs; Michael Mahoney, chair of the Academic Senate; and Chris Prado, president of Associated Students, Inc. 

It is expected that many University offices will be closed during this time because all employees are encouraged to attend. Managers are urged to arrange for attendance by department staff members as long as operational needs can still be met.
