Durham Elementary soars on first day of schoool

Centerville, Horner, Hopkins and Thornton middle schools this year are participants of the Integrated Middle School Science Partnership, a five-year initiative to transform science educaiton. California State University East Bay and the Alameda County Office of Education sponsor it with grant funding from the National Science Foundation and Bay Arrea science organizations.

Hopkins and Centerville are now implementing the project's Bridge Program, an after-school program for girls designed to bring awareness and build interest in science related fields.
