Exhibition celebrates 50 years of art faculty, staff creations

A range of artistic techniques will be represented in the 50th Anniversary Art Faculty and Staff Exhibition set for early fall quarter in the University Art Gallery on the Hayward campus.
The exhibition will open with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 18, and runs through Nov. 23 in the Gallery on the first floor of the Art and Education Building, 25800 Carlos Bee Blvd. Hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and Saturday, and from 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday.
“In addition to dynamic works of art ranging from video to ceramic sculpture, a slide show of the gallery's past exhibits will be on view,” said Jill Ringler, gallery curator and manager.
The exhibition will include the work of James Allison, Kristen Becker, Jenn Brazelton, Malka Helfman, Michael Henninger, Bryan Higgins, Phillip Hofstetter, Scott Hopkins, Kirk LeClaire, Mark Levy, Grace Munakata, Gwyan Rhabyt, Jill Ringler, Philip Ringler, James Saxon, Dickson Schneider, Melanie Sharr, Krys Simon, Suzy Wear and Sharon Wickham.
Parking on campus is $2 per hour at meters, $10 per weekday, or $5 per weekend day.
Additionally, Maria Fulmer, ’11 BFA photography, is showing work through Dec. 8 at the CSUEB Oakland Center. Both exhibitions are free.
