The film will be followed by a question-and-answer session with Samantha King, author of the book,"Pink Ribbons Inc: Breast Cancer and the Politics of Philanthropy," on which the film is based.
The book and the documentary, directed by Lea Pool, have gained attention on a national level because of the recent revelations involving the changing relationship of the Susan G. Komen Foundation and Planned Parenthood, said Becky Beal, associate professor of kinesiology at CSUEB.
The film, sponsored by the university's new Center for Sport and Social Justice and the Department of Kinesiology, will begin at 7 p.m. in the University Theatre on Cal State East Bay's Hayward Campus, 25800 Carlos Bee Blvd. Admission is free and open to the public.
