Contra Costa County seventh- and eighth-graders learn college is cool at 'COOL Nite'

CONCORD -- Seventh- and eighth-graders in Contra Costa County and their parents are invited to attend a "COOL Nite" event Friday, where they can learn how college can bring new opportunities for career and life experiences.

The free College Offers Opportunities for Life -- or COOL -- event is from 6:30-9:30 p.m. on the Cal State University East Bay's Concord Campus at 4700 Ygnacio Valley Road in Concord. More than 200 participants have already signed up for the fourth annual college and career night presented by the Contra Costa County Office of Education and the Contra Costa Community College District.

The event includes workshops about how to be successful in college and prepare for exciting careers, as well as an exhibit hall where local businesses and college representatives will be available to meet with families. More information is available by calling 925-942-3396 or visiting .
