Cal State East Bay announces graduation ceremonies beginning Friday in Hayward

HAYWARD -- Commencement ceremonies for each of Cal State East Bay's four colleges begin Friday evening and continue through Sunday afternoon, university officials announced.
Nearly 4,000 students will graduate, with about 2,600 earning their bachelor's degrees and about 1,200 getting master's and doctoral degrees.
At 6 p.m. Friday, the College of Science will graduate. Then at 9 a.m. Saturday, the graduation ceremony for the College of Letters, Arts and Social Sciences takes place. Lenny Williams, former Tower of Power lead vocalist will be recognized.
At 3 p.m. Saturday, the College of Business and Economics will graduate. Richard Sherratt, Bay Area businessman, civic leader and 1970 Cal State East Bay graduate, will be presented with an honorary degree.
At 3 p.m. Sunday, ceremonies will be held for the College of Business and Economics.
All the ceremonies will be held at Pioneer Stadium on the Cal State East Bay campus, 25800 Carlos Bee Blvd.
University officials advise those driving to the ceremonies to leave early and to avoid Mission Boulevard, which is the site of major road repair work.
