UP College of Education Hosts ICTED 2012

The 7th International Conference on Teacher Education (ICTED) will be held on July 26-28, 2012 at the University of the Philippines Bahay ng Alumni and the College of Education.
ICTED is a biennial conference organized by the UP College of Education. It provides a venue for educators, educational administrators, and researchers to exchange best practices in content and pedagogy. This year’s conference theme is “Leadership in Education: Fostering Social Transformation and Harmony.”
Renowned education experts and practitioners here and abroad are invited to speak during plenary sessions. Among them are Department of Education Secretary Bro. Armin Luistro, UP Professor Emeritus and prominent economist Solita Collas Monsod. International speakers come from University of Redlands -- Dr. Christopher Hunt, an Education Administration specialist and Dr. Jose Lalas, a specialist in Literacy and Educational Justice. Dr. Shannon Stanton, expert in Multicultural Education teaching at Whittier College in California, and Dr. Lettie Ramirez, a specialist in Curriculum and Instruction based at California State University-East Bay are also among the international speakers. The concurrent paper presentations are divided into two broad strands: Transformational Leadership and Education for Social Transformation. There are 40 studies to be presented by scholars and educators coming from Canada, USA, Japan, Korea, Middle East and the Philippines
On-site conference fee is PhP6,500 for local attendees and $250 for foreign participants. Special rates are available for persons with disability and to those who register as a group (5 or more).
