Join faculty, staff and students Oct. 12 for a Day of Celebration
- September 27, 2012
Faculty, staff, and students are invited to attend A Day of Celebration Oct. 12, as the university community recognizes newly hired faculty members, and longtime and new emeritus professors during Faculty Honors Convocation, a ceremony that also will incorporate the historic Presidential Investiture of the university’s fifth president, Leroy M. Morishita.
The ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m. at the outdoor peristyle at the Music Building. Faculty members wishing to participate in the academic procession should assemble for robing at 9:30 a.m. in the Arts and Education Building, room 142.
The day’s festivities will continue with the annual al Fresco fall welcome back event and
a reception in the AE courtyard. Browse through information tables stocked with details about student clubs, organizations and campus life activities, while music -- ranging from a live drumming performance to DJ-spun tunes -- enlivens the event. Enjoy food, drinks, entertainment, games and giveaways, too.
Supervisors are encouraged to release staff to attend, provided operational needs are met.
