'al Fresco' welcomes students, faculty, staff back to campus
About 2,500 people are expected to attend al Fresco, which is traditionally one of the largest events on campus.

A friendly atmosphere – and free meal – is just a small part of the activities that will take place at the 24th annual al Fresco “welcome back to campus” festival on the Hayward campus of California State University, East Bay, from 12:30 to 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12.
This year al Fresco also will serve as the post-event reception for the morning Investiture ceremony of Cal State East Bay President Leroy M. Morishita.
Students, faculty and staff are invited to step away from their normally busy afternoon schedules to relax in the fresh air at al Fresco, which will be held in the courtyard of the Arts and Education Building ().
About 2,500 people are expected to attend the festival, which is one of the largest events on campus. Al Fresco offers a chance for sororities, fraternities, clubs and organizations to recruit students and to provide them with information about campus resources and departments.
Food being served at al Fresco will include wrapped sandwiches, with vegetarian alternatives, and other refreshments.
