Author to kick off Distinguished Writer Series in Hayward

HAYWARD -- Author Lucille Lang Day will read from her memoir "Married at Fourteen" on Wednesdayat Cal State East Bay.

Day's talk kicks off the 2013 Distinguished Writer Series hosted by Cal State East Bay's English Department.

"Married at Fourteen" is the story of Day's life as a teenage mother. She went on to earn her doctorate from UC Berkeley, and is the author of several books and articles as well as poetry.

Day's free talk begins at 7 p.m. in the Biella Room of the university library, 25800 Carlos Bee Blvd. She will sign copies of her book afterward.
