San Joaquin County Office of Education is excited to announce the appointment of Jane Steinkamp as the new Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services beginning immediately. Jane has served as an educator for more than 20-year years, most recently as Division Director of Operations at SJCOE. San Joaquin County Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Mick Founts stated, “I am excited to have Jane join our team. Her depth and breadth of educational experience will be a great addition.

“Ron Costa, currently Superintendent of Escalon Unified School District, was slated to fill the vacant Assistant Superintendent position, but has made the decision to remain at Escalon due to his deep commitment to the district. Escalon was not able to find a suitable replacement in its initial replacement search. SJCOE Deputy Superintendent of Student Programs and Services, James Mousalimas stated, “We understand Ron’s deep commitment to Escalon and wish him continued success.”

“Preceding Steinkamp’s time at SJCOE, she spent nearly 10 years as Assistant Superintendent at Linden Unified Schools District, Principal at Jefferson Elementary School District, Assistant Principal of Monte Vista Middle School in Tracy Unified School District, and an English teacher at Tracy High School and Mount Eden High School in Hayward.

“Jane Steinkamp graduated from California State University, Sacramento with a Bachelor of Arts in English. She received her teaching credential from National University, Administrative Services Credential from California State University, Stanislaus, and Masters in Administration from California State University, East Bay.

“Steinkamp is a wife and mother of two, who enjoys cheering her kids on in sports, scrapbooking, gardening, and traveling.”
