Update Your Emergency Notification Information

  • April 26, 2013

Recently, the nation faced a terrible tragedy with the bombings at the Boston Marathon and shooting of a campus police officer at MIT. Our thoughts are with the survivors and family members of the victims, as they recover their lives and as their communities and the nation come to understand how these tragic events came to pass.

As the events unfolded, we saw local, regional, state, and national law enforcement organizations collaborate in response to a dangerous and rapidly evolving situation, emphasizing the importance of public awareness through traditional means and social media.

CSU East Bay uses AlertMe, an emergency notification system, to communicate directly with students, faculty and staff. If an emergency occurs that affects the campus, you will receive notifications and emergency warnings by phone, text, and e-mail through the AlertMe system as part of CSU East Bay’s emergency communication program to help ensure everyone is kept informed and safe. I encourage you to review your contact information in  to confirm that your AlertMe contacts are up-to-date.

The University wants to remind you that in case of an emergency, you should call 9-1-1 or dial ext. 5-3791 from any phone on campus. For questions regarding our Emergency Notification System, please contact Jim Hodges, Emergency Operations Center Commander at (510) 885-2250 or via e-mail at james.hodges@csueastby.edu.
