- May 16, 2013
LAND O'LAKES — The Pasco Education Foundation, Inc., has concluded its national search for a new executive director by hiring Tom P. Avramis, head of a private consulting firm with more than 22 years of executive leadership in the nonprofit sector.
Among his prior roles, Avramis served as president and CEO of Advanced Education Services in Colton, Calif., where he transformed a $17 million organization serving only the state of California into a $70 million family of five related agencies serving seven states. Avramis received his bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona and earned two master's degrees: one in science from California State University – East Bay, and one in divinity from Holy Cross College in Massachusetts.
"We feel fortunate to have found such a qualified new leader for the Pasco Education Foundation," said Donna Prentice, who chairs the foundation's board of directors. "Tom will bring strategic leadership and creativity to the foundation's programs with a deep sense of commitment to advancing student achievement throughout Pasco County schools."
Avramis, who starts June 3, replaces Chip Wichmanowski, who retired last year from the nonprofit organization, which raises money to enrich educational opportunities for Pasco students and educators.
