- September 10, 2013
Prospective students and their families are invited to visit Cal State East Bay’s Hayward Campus from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, when the university hosts Preview Day. Representatives from each of the university’s four colleges and administrative departments will be on hand to talk about their programs and conduct tours of the campus at 25800 Carlos Bee Blvd. in Hayward.
“We want anyone considering attending Cal State East Bay to join us and explore the vast array of academic programs and student services available, as well as to discover the beauty of our campus, which has a panoramic view of the bay and the San Francisco Bay Area,” said Amanda Segura, director of enrollment development and communications for CSUEB. “We encourage parents and other family members to come as well.”
Attendees will learn about the university’s admission requirements and financial aid, student life, athletics and academic support programs.
Faculty members teaching the most popular majors and courses of study ranging from business to pre-nursing will be on hand to provide information and answer questions, while current students will discuss and answer questions about student clubs and organizations.
Tours will be offered starting at 9:30 a.m., commencing from the New University Union lawn area on the southwest side of the campus. The opening session will take place at the same spot. Workshop sessions will be held in the New University Union, Old University Union and classrooms in Meiklejohn Hall.
Free lunch will be available for Preview Day students through the Dining Commons at the south end of campus. Parents and additional guests may purchase lunch for $8.50.
Advance registration is not required, although it is recommended. Register online at www.csueastbay.edu/previewday. Find additional information about Cal State East Bay’s Preview Day on the event Web site (www.csueastbay.edu/previewday) or by calling (510) 885-2612.
Prospective students looking to be admitted to CSUEB for fall 2014 quarter may apply during the priority application filing period that begins Oct. 1.
“Students are encouraged to apply early,” Segura said.
