MARTY JAMES COLUMN: Pioneers soccer player Adrian Maldonado

Adrian Maldonado is a junior midfielder for Cal State East Bay (Hayward) men’s soccer team, which is tied for fourth place in the California Collegiate Athletic Association North Division standings.
He has played in eight of the Pioneers’ 10 games so far.
Maldonado is from Napa and played soccer at Vintage High, leading the Crushers to Monticello Empire League championships as a junior and senior.
He was twice selected first-team All-MEL and All-Napa County. He played his club soccer with Napa Sporting, where he served as team captain.
