Cal State East Bay set for commencement ceremonies June 13-14

California State University, East Bay will celebrate the graduation of thousands of baccalaureate, master’s, credential and other post-graduate students during three separate ceremonies taking place Friday, June 13, and Saturday, June 14.
CSUEB will honor all post-graduate students of the university’s four colleges – Science; Business and Economics; Education and Allied Studies; and Letters, Arts, and Social Sciences – with their diplomas during a ceremony on the Hayward campus that begins at 4 p.m. Friday in Pioneer Stadium. All qualified undergraduates from the four colleges on the Hayward campus will be presented with their bachelor’s degrees during a 10 a.m. ceremony Saturday in the stadium. CSUEB’s Hayward Campus is located at 25800 Carlos Bee Blvd.
CSUEB’s Concord campus will hold its graduation ceremony beginning at 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 14 for undergraduate and graduate students who attended classes on that campus. The ceremony will take place at the Boatwright Sports Complex at the Concord Campus, 4700 Ygnacio Valley Road, in Concord.
Admission tickets and parking permits will be required only for those who attend the Saturday morning ceremony on the Hayward campus.
The university will present Honorary Doctorate degrees to two Bay Area business and civic leaders during the Hayward campus events. Stephen D. Bechtel, Jr. will be recognized during the Friday ceremony, while Yoshie Akiba will be honored during the Saturday morning ceremony.
Bechtel is chair of the S.D. Bechtel, Jr. Foundation, created to improve the quality of life for Californians, while Akiba is a community activist and owner of Yoshi’s jazz clubs and restaurants located in San Francisco and Oakland.
