Congressman Swalwell to speak to Cal State East Bay business students May 12

Eric Swalwell, East Bay congressman representing much of Hayward and other East Bay cities, will be speaking at Cal State East Bay's Hayward campus on Monday, May 12, at 6:30 p.m.

The topics of Swalwell's presentation will be “Immigration and High Tech Workers, Economy and Jobs, and Campaign Finance."

Swalwell, who serves California's 15th Congressional District in the House of Representatives, will be speaking to two classes of CSUEB's College of Business and Economics; one is the Undergraduate BSBA (Bacehlor of Science in Business Administration) program and the other is the Evening MBA program for working professionals.

His talk will take place in the College of Business and Economics Presentation Center, housed in the Valley Business and Technology building.

Rep. Swalwell serves on two House committees --Science, Space and Technology as well as Homeland Security. He also is the ranking member on the Energy subcommittee.

Ken Chung and Raj Shea, faculty members of the Management Department of the university's College of Business and Economics, invited Swalwell to speak in conjunction with their class on Business, Government and Society. It deals with how businesses are affected by political, ethical and technological issues.
