"Conceptual Photography Exchange Exhibition: China and USA" at University Art Gallery July 19 - Aug. 28

Cal State East Bay's School of Arts and Media is presenting the University Art Gallery's first ever Summer exhibition, "Conceptual Photography Exchange Exhibition: China and USA," July 19 - Aug. 28 at the gallery on CSUEB's Hayward campus.

The exhibition features contemporary photographic art of South China and the Bay Area. It presents a unique opportunity for the CSU East Bay campus and the Bay Area community to experience cutting edge, thought-provoking photographic work by 16 professional and student artists from the People's Republic of China and the United States. The opening night reception will also feature live music and dance performances. 

This collaborative show is organized by Philip Ringler, artist and chief curator of the University Art Gallery, and Leo Pan, artist and curator, who works in both Guangzhou, China, and the Bay Area. 

Several of the artists from China will be visiting for the opening reception and include: Mingming Liang, Zhang Sui Yang, Tang Bin Di, Cang Ying, Yang Jia Ming, Gao Hongxun, and Leo Pan. All of the American artists in the exhibition are associated with Cal State East Bay and include: Sharon Wickham, Lisa Levine, Jena Scholten, Relaxing Realism, Alyssa Albatana, Andrew Parker, and Ringler. Each artist will exhibit four 24" x 36" images.
