TEMBA Alumni Reunion sees pledges of up to $225,000 for Student Scholarships
- October 14, 2014
On Saturday, Oct. 11, the College of Business and Economics (CBE) welcomed 50 alumni from nine cohorts of the successful TEMBA (Transnational Executive MBA) program to campus for a reunion and networking event.
The TEMBA program ran from 2001-2006 and graduated over 150 students during the course of the program. TEMBA was recently relaunched as the MBA for Global Innovators, which is designed to “turn mid-career managers and entrepreneurs into successful MBA graduates.” A key part of both programs is an international immersion trip, with recent cohorts traveling to Hungary, China and Turkey. Trips to Japan and Vietnam are planned for 2015.
During the event, TEMBA cohort 1 graduate Atul Dhablania, who recently founded the JC Dhablania Excellence in Business Scholarship (with a donation of $100,000), offered to match donations from TEMBA graduates (up to $100,000) for student scholarships in CBE.
Cal State East Bay CBE Dean Jagdish Agrawal, who taught in the TEMBA Program, updated the returning alumni and himself pledged an additional $25,000 in student scholarships in honor of the TEMBA graduates. He welcomed the alumni back to “their college” and encouraged them to “get involved with the college” in any way they could.
