Cal State East Bay Degree Option Ranks in Top 50 of Best Human-Centered Design and Engineering Programs

Cal State East Bay has made a list of 50 universities offering the best human-centered design and engineering degree programs.

The honor, bestowed by Pannam Imaging in Cleveland, Ohio, recognizes the university’s psychology degree program with an option in ergonomics and human factors.

Specifically, the list names those universities with "some of the best, most comprehensive undergraduate options for students who wish to pursue advanced studies in human-centered design and engineering, or those who wish to enter careers in human factors engineering or design upon graduation."

Cal State East Bay students studying psychology with the ergonomics and human factors option may also choose to minor in computer science, offering additional opportunities to learn about human-centered computer design. Students also complete an internship while in the program, which gives them firsthand experience developing skills in a real-world setting.

Other universities to receive this distinction include Arizona State University, Clemson University, Georgia Tech, Northwestern University, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Tufts University, the United States Military Academy, and the University of Toronto in Ontario, Canada.

About Cal State East Bay’s Department of Psychology

The Department of Psychology offers three degree programs: the traditional Bachelor of Arts program, a Bachelor of Science degree with an option in organizational/industrial psychology, and a Bachelor of Science degree with an option in ergonomics and human factors. All three programs develop practical skills desired by employers and grad schools, and all classes are taught by faculty members who hold doctoral degrees. The university’s Psychology Club is open to all students, and a chapter of Psi Chi, the national psychology honor society, is open to those students meeting the national organization’s admission requirements.
