Discovery Day Science Festival at Cal State East Bay is Oct. 24

California State University, East Bay will host Discovery Day, a free science event featuring exciting demonstrations and hands-on activities, on Oct. 24. Part of the Bay Area Science Festival, Discovery Day is presented by CSUEB’s College of Science and will be held in the north and south science buildings on the Hayward campus from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
“The College of Science is very proud to once again be the host of the perennial Science Festival,” said Dean Michael Leung. “It is an event that engages participants of all ages in fun-filled, hands-on STEM activities that will leave them totally amazed and thrilled.”
More than 50 activities are expected, including demonstrations, experiments, exhibits and lectures. A chemistry magic show, life of a criminologist, fossil casting, robot action, health screenings and mathematical puzzles are some of the activities and attractions planned.
is a two-week celebration of science, technology, engineering and mathematics running from Oct. 22-Nov. 7.
Science festivals at Cal State East Bay are a biennial tradition dating back to 1974.
