CSUEB offers innovative wedding planner certificate

The CSUEB program is the only one of its kind offered at an accredited university and hospitality management professionals consider the certificate to be a benchmark for all other wedding consulting training programs.
25-year hospitality industry veteran Joyce Scardina Becker leads the program and owns the event-planning firm Events of Distinction in San Francisco. Becker has planned more than 500 weddings.
"This is definitely an industry that's growing," said Scardina Becker. "Even in a recession, people still want to celebrate. People still get married. In a way, the hospitality industry can be somewhat recession proof."
