"Popeye," created from clay, paint, wood and wire, stands 5 feet tall.
The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art has acquired “Popeye,” a sculpture by alumna Kristen Morgin, art ’93, and has it on display on the fifth floor of its facility at 151 Third St., San Francisco.
The sculpture was created in 2006 of unfired clay, paint, wood and wire and stands 61 inches tall: SF SOMA
Morgin, who holds a MFA in ceramics from Alfrid University, is a tenured faculty in sculpture at California State University, Long Beach.
Her work is exhibited nationally and is in public collections including the University of California, Los Angeles Hammer Museum, Los Angeles County Museum, and Alfred University Museum. She has had many shows in Southern California and she has recently had work at the highly regarded Zach Feuer Gallery in New York City
