A recruitment reception for the Cal State East Bay Community Service Scholarship Program (CSSP) is planned for May 2, from 2pm-3:30pm, in the University Union 311. Many of the nonprofit agencies who will be offering summer jobs with scholarships will be available to answer questions.
Established in 1992 through a gift from Bruce and Marie Rosenblatt, CSSP matches CSUEB student volunteers with nonprofit organizations eager to give them a real world setting where they can put current skills to the test while developing new ones. At the end of the 100-hour summer program, student volunteers receive a $1000 scholarship.
All continuing CSUEB students in good academic standing; (2.0 GPA undergrad/ 3.0GPA graduate) who will be full-time students in fall 2013 are eligible. Thirty internships are now posted in for students to apply. To find jobs, type CSSP in the keyword search on CBAY. Deadline for application is May 13.
Thanks to CSSP, over 225 Cal State East Bay students have given 24,000+ hours of service to homeless people, the elderly and disadvantaged children throughout the Bay Area.
