pre-pre-award
The Pre-Pre-Award seeks to grow research or increase the research reputation of CSUEB, facilitate collaborations
between investigators, and provide proposal development through workshop, editing, feedback, and supporting large center-level proposals. The Pre-Pre-Award is the stepping stone to creating a robust grant proposal. Some of the ways we facilitate this are:
Research Development Faculty Fellow
The Research Development Faculty Fellow will work with the Associate Vice President for the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) and other personnel to promote and advance RSCA. They will provide Research and Creative Activities Development services to the faculty to facilitate enhanced external grant-seeking to foster student/faculty collaboration, interdisciplinary and/or multi-college initiatives, and university/community partnerships. They will support grant writing, critical review and editing of grant proposals and related content, mentoring, and facilitation to enhance the quality of the content of grant proposals submitted to external funders. Dr. Shubha Kashinath is serving as Research Development Faculty Fellow.
Research and Scholarship Grant Program (RSG)
The Research Scholarship and Creative Activity Grant Program (RSCA) or Research and Scholarship Grant Program (RSG) are funded by funds from the Office of the Chancellor and the Cal State East Bay Division of Academic Affairs. They are intended as “seed grants” to promote the development of new or expanded research, scholarship, and creative activities (RSCA) by faculty. Successful proposals will identify one or more specific products that will result from the project such as a publication in a peer-reviewed journal, submission of a grant proposal to an external sponsor, a public performance, and/or juried competition. There are two calls for proposals, one before the Spring Semester and one before the Fall Semester.
Grant Proposal Development (GPD) program
Cal State East Bay’s Grant Proposal Development (GPD) program aims to equip faculty with the tools required for the development and submission of competitive extramural grant proposals. This program is open to full-time faculty in all disciplines. Participants will be provided with resources for research/program development and idea refinement, editorial and writing support, grantspersonship, and subject matter specific expert mentoring for the timely submission of high-quality extramural grant proposals. Overall, GPD will support Cal State East Bay’s faculty in their efforts to achieve success in research, scholarly, and creative activities (RSCA). There will be calls for proposals as funding is available.
Proposal Support Services
ORSP can hire internal and external proposal support for faculty who need help with Planning, Consultation, Proposal Review, and Proposal Revision. Hanover Research is currently our external partner in Proposal Support
