The California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) is a state agency in the Executive Branch of California. The major purpose of the agency is to serve as a state standards board for educator preparation for the public schools of California, the licensing and credentialing of professional educators in the State, the enforcement of professional practices of educators, and the discipline of credential holders in the State of California.

At the end of your professional preparation experience, you will apply to the CTC for your credential through the Credential Student Service Center (CSSC). The CSSC serves as the official university liaison office to the Commission. You can read more about the role of the by visiting their website.

New Resource for Clearing a Preliminary Teaching Credential

The Commission has a new resource at the following link for California-prepared teachers regarding the necessary . The resource is intended for the holders of Preliminary teaching credentials based on the completion of Commission-approved California credential programs and would be particularly useful for educators who were given TPA and/or RICA deferrals and now have them as renewal requirements. 

Career Empowerment Center

The Career Empowerment Center assists current students and alumni to help them in preparing to reach their academic and career goals through a variety of advising and employment services including, but not limited to, advising sessions, career and experiential education, networking programs, and individual career counseling/job search assistance.

The Career Empowerment Center can be a vital resource for help with resumes specific to education jobs, mock interviews with school districts, and a myriad of services to assist you in career planning for credential positions.
