Eligibility & Application

To be eligible for the program, you must meet the following criteria

  1. US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card holder or AB540 student
  2. Have Academic Need 
  3. Identify with ONE of the following 
    • First Generation College Student (neither of your parents or guardians have a 4 year US Bachelor’s degree, no documentation needed)
    • Low-income Student (must meet federal guidelines, documentation required)
      • Acceptable documentation forms: CURRENT IRS FEDERAL TAX FORMS: 1040, 1040A, 1040EZ. If IRS Federal Tax forms were not filed: Submit a letter on official letterhead showing monthly stipend from SSI, SSDI, FAFSA/SAR, CALWORKS
    • Student with a Disability (must be registered with Accessibility Services)

 

You are not eligible for the EXCEL Program if you are…

  • An EOP student
  • A Project Impact student
  • A Continuing Education student not enrolled in B.S. Business Administration
  • An International student

 

The EXCEL Program is currently accepting applications

Please fill out the application by clicking the button below. You will be contacted if there is any documentation that needs to be submitted. Your application will be reviewed within 2-3 weeks and you will be notified of the status of your application. Unfinished applications or applications without required documentation will not be reviewed.

Students Accepted into excel

Once you are accepted into the EXCEL program, you will be required to complete an additional mandatory onboarding session. This session is designed to provide you with important information and resources to help you succeed in the program. As it is a crucial step in your participation.
