Weeks of Welcome

Weeks of Welcome (WOW) is the official kick-off of events and programs during the first few weeks of each semester. The goal of Weeks of Welcome is to welcome new and returning students to campus and provide support for new students as they transition into CSU East Bay. All events and programs hosted by a variety of departments are designed to support your success as a student.


 

Ask Me Tabling

Ask Me Tabling Is Here To Help! Are You New To Campus This Semester? Ask Me provides an opportunity for students to be able to ask our student leaders for directions to classes, questions about campus AND grab some free snacks and merch!

Pioneer Palooza

Pioneer Palooza, previously East Bay Round, also known as our annual club/org expo, will take place during the first two weeks of the semester. Learn about Recognized Student Organizations you can join and campus departments and programs you can get involved with.

Pioneer Leadership Certificate

Pioneer Leadership Certificate (PLC) is an 8-week leadership program for emerging student leaders. In the PLC Program, students will be able to identify how their experiences and backgrounds are strengths, build their confidence, and develop their leadership philosophy and skills. All students will be recognized and awarded their certificates at the end of the semester. 

  • Weekly gatherings on Tuesdays 3:00 - 4:30 pm, 8-week commitment
  • March 4 to April 29, 2025

 

Spring Leadership Symposium

Spring Leadership Symposium is an opportunity for students to participate in thought-provoking discussions, skill-building workshops, and interactive panels aimed at cultivating effective leadership. This engaging event offers an excellent opportunity for students to connect with influential student leaders, exchange ideas, and develop strategies for driving positive change in their communities.

Leadership Banquet featuring SOLAR Awards

The Leadership Banquet will expand to recognize student leaders across campus! SOLAR (Student Organization Leadership and Recognition) Awards are designed to recognize outstanding student leaders, clubs/organizations, advisors, and departments that have presented outstanding events and programs, participated in community service activities, and demonstrated exemplary leadership within the CSUEB community and beyond.

  • Tuesday, April 29 from 4-6 pm

 

Cultural Graduations

Cultural Graduations are held in addition to the official university commencement ceremonies. Cultural Graduation Celebrations provide students the opportunity to publicly thank and honor the people who helped them on their journey. The ceremonies are facilitated through partnerships with students, faculty, and staff to honor the diversity of our students, acknowledge their identities, and commemorate successful college careers.

al Fresco

al Fresco is our annual Fall welcome festival featuring free food, giveaways, and tons of campus and community resources tables. The festival features live performances and a DJ brought to you by Associated Students, Inc. Performances begin at 11:30 AM. Food service begins at 11 am - until it's gone!

Fall Leadership Conference

Fall Leadership Conference is an opportunity for emerging leaders will engage in dynamic workshops and collaborative activities designed to enhance their leadership skills and foster meaningful connections. This empowering event provides a unique platform for students to network with peers, gain valuable insights from experienced leaders, and ignite their passion for making a positive impact in their communities.

National Transfer Student Week

National Transfer Student Week is the third week of October every year. This week allows us to celebrate transfer students and their advocates who help(ed) them navigate the transition from one institution to another.

Make a Difference Day

Make a Difference Day brings community service to a whole new level each year. Organizations join forces on the fourth Saturday in October to make a difference, big or small. Millions of people have united in the common mission to improve the lives of others.
